Mima marks a milestone in its journey by announcing an all-female leadership team

By: Oliver Bennett-Coles |

Mima is marking a milestone in its journey by announcing an all-female leadership team, with Francesca Podmore now Head of Human Factors, Lisa Baker, Head of Experience Design & Sustainability, and Rosie Smith, now Head of Wayfinding. This shift represents a meaningful reflection of the company's commitment to fostering equality and diverse perspectives within the workplace and rewarding industry-leading work. Allied to these changes, Emily Yates, our Head of Accessibility and Inclusive Design, will be made a Director at Mima to reflect her leadership of the team.

For Mima, which is dedicated to human-centred design and inclusivity, having women in leadership positions further aligns the company's structure with its mission to design equitable and accessible spaces.

Each of the three women promoted brings unique expertise to Mima's leadership team. Francesca Podmore brings leadership experience across a range of human factors methods including UX design, risk assessment and user trials organisation and will continue driving Mima's mission to solve complex human-centric challenges across industries. Lisa Baker, who has been instrumental in Mima’s certification as a B Corporation, brings a wealth of experience in sustainability, service and experience design, helping to align business goals with broader social and environmental objectives. Rosie Smith’s leadership in Wayfinding ensures that Mima's projects remain cutting-edge in terms of inclusivity, leading by human behaviour and crafting environments that serve everyone.

This shift toward female leadership is a natural progression for Mima, which already embodies a progressive approach to diversity through its work on accessibility and inclusive design. With these promotions, Mima reinforces its long-standing commitment to making the world a more inclusive, sustainable place through thoughtful and people-focused design.
